How close are you willing to get to sin, compromise or something that will pull you away from God? In my own life and watching the choices of others, sin will take you deeper than you ever thought it would and pull you there faster than you would ever imagine. Have you ever said, "I would never do that"? Yet you find yourself right where you said you would never go -- we've all said that at one point. My advice is simple:

Keep away from anything that might take God's place in your heart. 1 John 5:21 NLT

Is there a person, a practice, a habit, a place, a per-occupation that you need to stay away from? Then do it, "run Forest run" -- get away from what might take God's place. Fill your mind with his Word. Fill you life with people that will help you put God first.

When we are developing authentic caring relationships with both believers and those that are exploring faith. I see more and more of "it" showing up among those that are part of our church. Church at the Falls, our best days are ahead.

What To Do With A Liar, Cheat and Thief

Jesus, God in the flesh, embraced Judas -- a liar, cheat and thief. Jesus welcomed him into a relationship with those closest to him. He did not simply tolerate him or shun him or treat him less than others. He actually gave him responsibility knowing he couldn't be trusted -- that's crazy love. Jesus modeled grace, love and redemption -- he believed Judas could be all that God planned for him to be. Unfortunately Judas finally made the decision to leave and forsake what Jesus offered him and was consumed by his own sinful choices -- too often this story is repeated. Will you love like Jesus and will you receive the love of Jesus? Maybe the next 'Judas' is sitting around your table and your godly love can impact them.

What if we were people of hope and grace in our homes, in our neighbourhoods, at work, with our church? What would look different in our world?

God hasn’t called us to “Repeat the obvious,” that people have sinned (…pretty sure they know it), but to show them a bright future which they never dreamed possible. I would rather stand before God and hear him say, “You were too forgiving” than to miss all the Angel-unawares, in the form of hurting people, upon whom I simply gave up. -- Matthew Barnett

Christian or not, this world is full of judgement. Maybe it's time we drowned a few people in love.

This Sunday will be huge. Special guest appearance by the Green Lantern super hero and we will have a photographer taking pictures with the Green Latern. Candy and popcorn will be served.

Week 2 of ATM will be fun and life changing. Will our movie be a drama, thriller, animation or comedy? How about a chick flick -- NO CHICK FLICKS ALLOWED.

Don't forget about the weekly trivia game for a chance to win a movie themed gift basket! FUN FUN FUN - but ultimately we know, amazing life change will take place. Just recently, in our community, two men jumped off bridges to their death. One jumped in front of a transport truck and the other from the Skyway into the water. I drive past both locations on my way to work. I must be honest, at first I was fixated on the incidents. Since the initial thought process has passed, I now think about their souls. My heart breaks to think of two men getting so desperate that their only relief was to end their lives in such shocking manners. My prayer as I travel this stretch of road, "God, wreck me with the reality of the spiritual condition of those within my community". So many hurting people -- the fields are ready for harvest.

I Am Not My Own

A big part of REmaining in Christ is realizing that we are not our own. As followers of Christ we have been bought with a price -- 1 Corinthians 6:20

I pondered this thought the last couple days, Wow -- not sure I get it. I am not my own, I belong to my Savior Jesus Christ. He redeemed me and now I live for His will and not my own. He plans my life -- a good life I might add. He directs my steps which is a far better way than my own. He knows the good and bad that I will face in this world and works ALL things together for my good? All things! That thought honestly slaps me upside the head. This past week I got a less than good report about my health -- yet He works "ALL things" together for my good. If that is the case and I want to REmain in Him, walking close to him then I need to accept that He knows all things and works in "ALL things".

My prayer, Father work in me, even in my sickness that you may be glorified, Amen

I Want To Be A World Changer

I want to be a world changer -- I really do. One day I want to look back over my life and see lives changed by the good news of Jesus Christ. Lives changed because I took the risk to step out, reach out and live out my faith.

Will I speak about Jesus and what he has done for me? Will I take the time to love another or serve another? Will I share with others about my church? Do what you can do and let God do the rest.

Often the fear of people controls us rather than our love for people. Ask God to give you an unquenchable love for others. Love someone today!

Do I Really Want To Repent?

A question that is begging for an answer in my own heart, do I really want to repent? Repentance is God initiated, but has much to do with my desire to say yes. Actually last week I began to think about where I was in my relationship with God. Even before Chris Beall spoke about repentance on Sunday -- I started a journey questioning my love for my Savior. Chris taught us that repentance is not feeling sorry for our actions. Repentance is a God awakening to our sin -- an awakening that we must own and welcome. An awakening that causes us to hate sin, lukewarm attitudes, apathy and turns us to God's way of seeing or doing things. Even though it is a God move in our lives, I believe we can fully reject his awakening.

I am more convinced than ever that I want God to awaken me -- I want a burning love for him and a great desire to see people find Christ as Savior. Now with that said, there is still part of me that is fearful of the cost that I will have to pay when saying yes to this renewal of my own soul. Yet as I seek God I feel like he is stripping away the fear -- not in some supernatural immediate fashion, but rather by confronting me with what holds me back. As he confronts me I have a choice to say yes, no or maybe; choices that may be uncomfortable and will definitely cost me something.

Are you asking God to renew you -- to bring you to repentance? It will likely be a journey, but one that is worth it. I encourage you to have a repentant heart. God has so much in store for you. Run to him. Desire more of him in your life. Love him. Join me in a simple prayer –- God, bring about repentance in my life.

Parents, do you want your children to follow Jesus? Let me share my own personal reflection, one that is becoming clearer everyday.

Let me start by sharing what I think are not the main factors. It's not about how often you go to church or even what kind of church you go to. It's not about how moral you live or how much of the Bible you can quote. It's not about how you dress or what you don't do. It's not about your pastor or the youth group at church. It's not about the music you listen to or the TV shows you don't watch. It's not about how much you serve or give. It's not about how strict you are or how lenient you are. Many of these things are important and noble.

I believe the greatest single influence that will draw your kids to Christ is YOUR love for Jesus. Not religion, not church. YOUR love for Jesus. Ask those around you today what they think is most important to you. Chances are you will hear things like family, church, job, or morality. If you hear someone say you love Jesus more than anything, you are on the right track. Keep it up. Strip all the religion away

and just love Jesus.

You might be asking, what does it mean to love Jesus? I could give you a list of do's and don'ts, but that takes us back to where I started. Instead make this your prayer. "Jesus, show me how I love You more than anything else." That's a prayer you will get answered. Just be ready for the answer.

Don't forget what we have heard the last two weeks. Pray big, pray with passion, pray fervently, pray by faith. God is bigger than you or I can imagine. Let God enlarge your faith.

Please pray along with me, that we would see 200+ people at our Sunday Experience. We have been working hard to break through 150, but maybe we are being too safe in our prayer. Let's trust him for a bigger increase in our numbers, because God loves people and wants us to reach more for him. Let's keep growing as we move toward our vision of 1000+ in multiple locations around Niagara.

Walking Her Home

Hey CATF,

Be on the look out for opportunities in your own home to find a need and meet it or find a hurt to heal. If we can't do this within the four walls of our home we have no business looking beyond our home to help others. I believe in you and know each of you will be the disciple God has called you to be. Find a need and meet it -- find a hurt and heal it.

Men, I would like to share something that God placed on my heart while listening to a song called, He Was Walking Her Home. It wasn't the first time I have realized my need to lead my family well, but this past Monday listening to the words of this song I renewed my commitment to "walk my wife home".

What does this mean? It means my first priority as a man is not my church, it is my wife. I must lovingly serve her in a way that leads her closer and closer to Christ -- because this life is "a walk home". A walk that leads to our home in heaven. We are just passing through. Ladies, please respect your husband as he works at "walking you home", he will fail at times. He is called by God to fulfill this position in your home. Allow him and encourage him, you and your family will benefit.

Ladies, if you are single or single again then let your heavenly Father fill this position. He ultimately is the one who "walks us all home".

My prayer is for strong families. Here's the song, He Was Walking Her Home, I hope it speaks to you.

Two Lives Changed For Eternity

What an awesome Sunday experience. We had two people accept Christ as Savior. That's two people who are now part of God's family and will spend eternity with Him -- That's a big deal! It is amazing what God is doing in and through the people of CATF. Keep inviting our friends, keep serving, keep giving, keep praying because God is using us in a mighty way. I can hardly wait to see what He does throughout the week ahead and into this weekend. God is good.

No Fear

What an amazing day with CATF this past Sunday. Here's some recent comments that have come our way...

"I look forward to every Sunday" "Thanks to the great leadership of CATF -- I am growing in my faith" "The people at CATF are focused on others" "This past Sunday's Talk was exactly what I needed to hear"

CATF exists to lead people into a growing relationship with Christ. We are EXCITED to hear great comments and see the evidence of a spiritual growth...

We had two people in the month of January express their desire to follow Jesus as their Savior.
Many people reading the Bible regularly.
Lots serving God with their gifts and talents.
Several in LifeGroups.
A growing number of people trusting God in tithing and giving.
Increased attendance on Sunday mornings. Every month in the last year we have seen an increase in our attendance over the previous year.
People caring for people. God has called us all to be "ministers".

Your willingness to follow Christ by serving and giving through CATF means we continue to lead people into growing relationships with Christ. Think of the potential of 1000 people meeting at multi-locations, doing life in groups and serving the community as result of what God is doing today and will do in the months and years ahead. Greater things are still to be done in Niagara Falls and the surrounding area.

This past Sunday Craig shared what the Bible has to say about fear. Key thought: What you fear reveals what you value the most. What you fear reveals where you trust God the least. Take your next step toward facing your fears. Talking through these questions with a friend can help you put this message into action. What fears have you lived with? Which ones have been a constant over the years in one form or another? In which areas of your life do you not trust God? What will you do to seek to be closer to God this week? How will you put God in between you and your fear? Go to our Facebook page and share your thoughts about leaving your fears with God.

No More Excuses

I hope you were able to be part of our Sunday experience this past weekend. We had a dynamic day! One of the highest in attendance. One public profession of faith! It's exciting to be part of a church that is making a difference in so many lives. Let's keep making it happen, we can't do it without you.

Craig challenged us in his talk to quit making excuses. Often we make excuses about why we are the way we are or why we can't change. Did you identify the area that you need to see changed? So as you move forward this week, do what you can do. Step out in faith and make the changes, take the steps you can, make that call. Then let God do the rest.

Here's a great 21 day fast story

Just wanted share a little of my week of "fasting."

I have to say, I'm amazed !!

I've established a very consistent morning time with God and I love it, it fills me up, gets me started on the right track, connects me, reminds me who's in control :), and has helped me to developed a real relationship with God like I never imagined was possible for me.

As I have fasted this week (first time ever), I have been reminded repeatedly to look to God, not just in the morning but through out my day. This week, I have pulled God into my days, several times a day and it has made me realize that I have been cheating myself by not having done this more before.

What the fasting has created is an opportunity for me to turn to him for strength (as my will power just doesn't cut it). What seemed like a little thing to ask Him for help with, is in fact huge!!......because I am asking him for help. It's easy to turn to Him when the really "big deals" come along and shake us up, but what I've learned is the difference He makes when He's invited into the little things too. I am trusting Him more, in all aspects of my life and I needed that more than I ever could have imagined.

21 Day Fast - starts Monday

Dear CATF 21 Day "Fasters",

As you enter into the 21 day fast beginning on Monday, January 3 I would like to share a few thoughts with you.

Please realize that fasting is all about God having more of your life. As you deny yourself food or some other activity, I trust it will bring you to a place of greater dependence and focus on God. In addition I encourage you to spend time with God not only first thing each day but also spend time with him as you fast a meal. If you are cutting out certain foods, each time your stomach growls or you long for that favourite food -- turn that time into a prayer moment.

Use this time of fasting to pray more often. To express your need for God in a new and fresh way. Lift praise and thanks to God for your salvation and the many blessings in your life. Confess sin and areas of struggle. Please pray specifically for an area of need in your life, family or a friends life. Seek out others and pray with them. Share prayer by email, facebook or over the phone.

In addition, seek God on behalf of Church at the Falls. Pray for God's power upon our church, for spiritual growth, for people to come to faith in Christ, for wisdom, for greater impact.

21 Days of Fasting

Join Pastor Brandon, CATF leaders and the LifeChurch.tv Network as we fast for 21 days. Let's seek God, humble ourselves before and ask his blessing on 2011. Put him First.

Why should I fast?

To hear God more clearly. God's voice will get stronger as I deny my own desires and say yes to him.
To more fully align my heart with God's plan for my life.
It humbles me as I realize how difficult it is for me to fast. I expose my weakness and my need of an all powerful God.
To grow spiritually, to seek God's healing for sinful habits.

What should I fast?

Whatever you sense God leading you to give up for the 21 days.
You could fast coffee, desserts, all meat, eat only vegetables, soft drinks, all alcohol, all TV, all social media, the internet (except for work purposes), you could fast all food and drink only juice and water. It's up to you to figure out what God is leading you to do.

What else should we do besides fast?

Pray for God to more fully work in your life, pray for healing physically, pray for release from sinful habits, pray for your family, for friends, for the salvation of people you know, for your church, for your pastor, for the needs of our community.

Christmas Compassion

Christmas Compassion is beginning. We just loaded up one of our volunteers with diapers, wipes, newborn clothing to give to a young couple in the community. Praying God uses this gift to show his love to this family. Thanks CATF for giving. God will multiply this over and over.

On Friday afternoon we head to Greycliff Manor to bless 40 residents and then to the Rex Motel to give to another 10 people.

In addition we will sponsor a Compassion Child overseas.

What you keep is all you have, what you give God multiplies. Thanks for being part of this great micro-mission outreach to our community and our world. You are the best church in the world.

I am proud of the people that are part of CATF. I am proud that you are open to growing in your relationship with God. I know the last two weeks have been challenging talks (I have felt that personally). Even though they have been challenging, I keep hearing great feedback from so many about what God is doing in lives.
What is God asking you to do? Don't make excuses why you can't tithe and give, simply ask God what he wants you to do. Every single one of us has very unique dynamics in our lives that God is fully aware of and he wants to work through you regardless of the challenges you feel prohibit you from following him.

Where are you with God? Be honest in your answer. Where do you need the most improvement? This past Sunday Pastor Craig really chanllenged us and led us by example to remove the masks we hide behind. To be honest it's so easy for us to get comfortable in our dysfunction. Do the hard work and begin to remove the mask. Be real and expose the dark areas of your life to the light of God. This past Sunday we recorded out highest ever Sunday morning experience attendance with 133 people. Wow! In our 3 1/2 years as a church we have grown from less than 20 people to a growing vibrant church. In our 2 years as LifeChurch.tv Network Church we have doubled in size. Great days are ahead. I love all that God is doing through our church, but I also pray that churches in our community are also growing. We can't do it alone.

If you remember me mentioning in last weeks video news about a first time guest, well he accepted Christ this week. Amazing life change! That's what it's all about!

Prayer Requested

It’s Friday again already and while for most people that means a celebration of the end of the work week, for me it means my week moves into very high gear.

I really do love Sunday's, from the time I come into the office on Tuesday morning, it’s Sunday that’s in my sights.

Sunday morning generally takes a ton of energy out of me, but it's worth it.

One of the greatest things you can do for me and for Craig is to pray and invite people to come with you.

Please pray that God will give me the sheer physical energy I’ll need to put the best I’ve got into what he wants to do on Sunday morning. Pray for my health, having Crohn's has its impact on me at times.
Pray that I will communicate what God wants me to say on Sunday.
Pray that God will help me not to allow the 101 other things I deal with before our morning experience starts to sap my emotional energy or shift my focus.
Pray that I’ll approach the morning with passion and compassion.
Pray that God will remind that it's all about Him and not about me.
Pray that I love the people.
Invite friends and bring your family with you this weekend.
Would you also pray for Roman and Kim Rozborowskyj. Roman's brother passed away suddenly due to a heart attack.

I need your help and I need God’s help too.
